Coffee roaster offers tasting in Charleston

CHARLESTON — Hill Tree Roastery, a Huntington-based coffee roaster, will offer a coffee talk and tasting from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Aronfield Agency, 208 Hale St. in Charleston. The event, offered in partnership with Taste! West Virginia magazine, is free and open to the public.

“The mission behind Taste! is to promote our state’s culinary scene, and beverages are a huge part of that. Hill Tree Roastery is a smaller, West Virginia-based business that we feel people should know about,” said Taste! West Virginia editor-in-chief Joel Bennett. They have fantastic products and have experienced a lot of growth over the past year.”

Hill Tree Roastery’s Alek Dailey and Bryan Shaw will educate participants on different roast types and the basics of grinding, as well as proper French press and pour over techniques to improve your at home coffee experience and start you on the path to becoming your own barista. The event will conclude with a tasting of Hill Tree Roastery’s various blends paired with small bites. Hill Tree Roastery products will be available for purchase during the event.
