BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) _ Reserve Dominique Canty scored seven points late in the first half, sparking No. 18 Alabama from a nine-point deficit to a 73-52 victory over Vermont in the championship game of the Howard Bank Classic on Friday.

Vermont (4-4) pushed its lead to 21-12 midway through the first half but Canty scored seven quick points in sparking the Crimson Tide (9-2) to a 31-27 halftime advantage.

Shalonda Enis, named most valuable player of the tournament, had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Crimson Tide. Canty added 13 points.

Shannon Burke, Alex Lawson and Carrie Kirvin scored 11 points each for Vermont and Lori Taylor added 10.
