PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Pittsburgh star point guard Brandin Knight sustained a concussion when he collided with Syracuse center Craig Forth early in the second half of Saturday’s Big East game.
Knight was coming down the floor on defense when he rammed into Forth, who was setting a pick well above the 3-point line.
As Syracuse’s Gerry McNamara sank a 3-pointer with 17:01 remaining, Knight sat on the floor, shaking his head until play was stopped.
Knight was not expected to return, but re-entered the game with 10 minutes remaining.
Knight was a third-team All-American guard and the Big East co-player of the year last season.
