Italian arrested in Slovenia in poisoned envelope case
LJUBLJANA, Slovenia (AP) — Police in Slovenia say they have arrested an Italian man suspected of sending an envelope containing poison to the Czech finance minister last November.
Police said Monday they arrested the man on Dec. 22 in an area close to the border with Italy. The man has not been identified and no other details were immediately available.
The Czech Republic’s finance and interior ministers last year both received toxic envelopes, but they were intercepted before anyone could be exposed. It was not clear why the two ministers were targeted.
