Sleeping Man Found In Lynn Motel Room With Stash of Cocaine
LYNN, Mass. (AP) _ Police stumbled upon more than $250,000 in cocaine stashed in a motel room Tuesday after being called to investigate a guest who slept past the morning check-out time, an officer said.
Martin Aquino Sr., 48, of Lynn was arrested on drug trafficking charges after he was discovered by police sleeping in a motel room with an estimated $280,000 in cocaine, police said.
The owner of the Lynnway Motel called police after she was unable to rouse Aquino following the 11 a.m. check-out time. After banging on the room’s door, Patrolmen Edward Blake and Shirley McCloud entered the room, Blake said.
Blake said he and McCloud found some cocaine on a mirror and later uncovered cocaine hidden in several locations, including the air conditioner.
Aquino was arraigned Tuesday in Lynn District Court and was being held Tuesday night at the Essex County House of Correction in Salem.
