USC Gets $2M for Track Stadium
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ A University of Southern California alumna’s $2 million gift to the athletic department will fund a new 3,000-seat track-and-field stadium on campus, athletic director Mike Garrett said Wednesday.
The donation from Katherine B. Loker is the biggest gift the athletic department has ever received from an individual.
The stadium, which will be built where Cromwell Field currently stands, will be named The Katherine B. Loker Track and Field Stadium.
The $2 million gift was part of a $17 million donation from Loker to the university.
