Recount of votes possible for Ludington’s Fifth Ward race
During the midterm election Tuesday, in the race for the City of Ludington’s Fifth Ward councilor, Angela Serna won by a slim margin of four votes, with 243 votes for her, compared to 239 votes for her opponent, the incumbent candidate Wally Cain.
Cain can ask for the precinct’s votes to be recounted, and with such a small winning margin, it might be worth a try.
Cain would have to file a petition for a recount at the Mason County Clerk’s Office, said Ludington City Clerk Deborah Luskin. A recount can be asked for no matter the margin of the votes, she said.
“If Wally wants to seek a recount, he can certainly do that,” Luskin added.
