92-year-old Trumbull man kills 73-year-old Easton man in collision

TRUMBULL - A 73-year-old Easton resident was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Friday at the transfer station.

Alexander Trup, of Rock House Road, died Monday at Bridgeport Hospital from multiple injuries.

Police said Trup was unloading debris from his vehicle at around 12:00p.m. on Friday, when he was struck by a car that was operated by Edward Socha, 92, of Plum Tree Lane, Trumbull.

Witnesses said that Socha was backing toward the building to unload material when his vehicle lurched backward struck Trup, knocking him to the ground, police said. The car continued to travel backward in a circle and backed over him.

Socha was not immediately charged and police said the incident is under investigation.
