Driver injured from crash with potato hauler

POCATELLO — A Utah man was transported to Portneuf Medical Center after the car he was driving struck the rear end of a truck hauling potatoes on Interstate 86 near the Arbon Valley exit, police said.

Dean Rottini, 57, of Toole, Utah, was driving a 2004 Audi TT coupe westbound when his vehicle struck the rear end of a Peterbuilt potato hauler a mile east of the Arbon Valley exit in Power County at 8:22 p.m., police said.

Police said Rottini was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the potato hauler, Christian Saldana, 21, of American Falls, was not transported to the hospital.
