Steven Herbert Lloyd Steven Herbert Lloyd passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 18, 2018 after a short illness. He was born October 5, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho to Myrle D. Lloyd and Herbert Edwin (Speed) Lloyd. Steve was a talented artist and musician. He excelled at playing the guitar and played in many popular bands when he was young. He was a quick study at virtually everything that he tried. It was not his goal just to learn a new skill as it was to master it. He always wanted to be the best that he could be. He loved scouting and he earned his Eagle award. Steve served over 25 years in the Army National Guard. He would earn the rank of Sergeant First Class. He also participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received an honorable discharge in 2007. Steve married Janet Lee Call on June 30, 1973 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They raised four children together; Steven Daniel Lloyd, Joshua James Lloyd, Christopher Charles Lloyd, and Serena Lee Tovey. Steve and Janet were later divorced. Steve was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over the course of his life. He served an honorable mission in France and Belgium. Later in life he would serve in the young men’s program specifically scouting. He would also serve as a temple worker in the Las Vegas Temple. He loved to spend as much time in the temple as he could. Steve is survived by his children; three grandchildren, Troy James Lloyd, Lilly Renee Lloyd, and Taliesin Rodney Tovey; and a brother, Charles Dana Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Harland Lloyd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13th at the Caldwell Park Chapel located at 135 South 7th Avenue at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
