General Mills To Buy Colombo Yogurt Business
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (AP) _ General Mills Inc. said Tuesday it has agreed to buy the Colombo yogurt division of Paris-based Bongrain S.A. for an undisclosed amount.
Colombo, with annual sales of about $100 million, makes both refrigerated and frozen yogurt products.
Minneapolis-based General Mills said the acquisition will complement its Yoplait refrigerated yogurt division, which generated sales of $250 million in fiscal 1993.
Columbo is headquartered in Methuen, Mass., and has production facilities in Methuen; Hagerstown, Md.; and Springfield, Mo.
