Celtics Sign Brown to 3-Year Deal
BOSTON (AP) _ Looking to strengthen their backcourt after failing to acquire free-agent guard Tariq Abdul-Wahad, the Boston Celtics announced Thursday that they have acquired veteran guard Randy Brown.
Brown, 32, who played his last four seasons with the Chicago Bulls, was scheduled to travel Thursday to Boston for a physical before signing his contract, which was agreed to Wednesday night.
The deal is worth $7.5 million over three years, agent Mark Bartelstein said.
Last season, Brown started 55 of the 59 games he played and averaging 27.5 minutes, 6.4 points and 2.4 rebounds.
