Windber magistrate reports: Dec. 27
The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Bill Seger in Windber:
Unauthorized use of automobiles
A 27-year-old Windber man is facing several charges after allegedly stealing a woman’s vehicle.
Windber Borough police said they received a report at 4:44 a.m. Sunday that David Paul Whetzel, of 7th Street, did not have permission to drive the vehicle he had taken. They made contact with him, and he promised multiple times to return it but did not do so. Whetzel was eventually found later in the morning, police said. During his arrest they discovered that Whetzel was carrying a plastic pipe containing a green, leafy substance.
Whetzel was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of automobiles, and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Jan. 9.
