Diamond Shamrock To Build Terminal
SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ Diamond Shamrock announced Monday plans to build a refined products terminal at Colorado Springs, Colo., and to extend a refined products pipeline in Colorado.
Construction on the Colorado Springs terminal will begin in late summer, with completion expected next spring, the San Antonio-based petroleum company said.
The pipeline, currently under construction from a refinery in the Texas Panhandle to the Colorado Springs area, will be extended to Denver. Completion of the pipeline is expected by year’s end.
Separately, Diamond Shamrock announced the formation of a joint venture company, Corner Store Mexico, with Mexican businessman Carlos Sandoval Delgado, to oversee convenience store franchises in Mexico.
Diamond Shamrock disclosed plans last week to open 200 of its Corner Store franchises in Mexico over the next five years.
