Downtown Huntington hosts flurry of Mother’s Day fun

May 14, 2019

HUNTINGTON — Mother’s Day brought hundreds into downtown Huntington on Sunday for a special occasion for sons and daughters to show love to the one who first loved them.

The Haute Wick Social in Heritage Station hosted a traditional afternoon tea and candle-making session — allowing guests to create their own personalized soy-based candles.

Tea was served by nearby Moonlight Cookies and included chicken salad pinwheels, cucumber sandwiches, gouda cheese dip and desserts.

Over on 3rd Avenue, the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe honored the day by donating a percentage of their Sunday sales to The Ark Women’s Recovery Center in Huntington. The organization assists women recovering from addiction and teaching valuable life skills during their stay.
