Bourbonnais, Bradley and Kankakee police arrested James K. Stewart Jr., 28, of Matteson, and charged him with breaking into businesses in each community on June 6. According to a prosecutor, Stewart gained entry by throwing a brick through windows of cellphone stores in Bradley (200 block of South Kinzie Avenue) and Bourbonnais (400 block of Main Street) and a grocery store in Kankakee (600 block of West Henry Street. Phones suspected of being taken were found in a vehicle police searched. A judge set Stewart’s bond at $75,000.
Watseka police arrested Morris J. Warren, 60, of Chicago, for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance on June 10. According to a release, Warren was stopped for improper lanes usage and for having only one headlight illuminated. He was issued tickets for improper lane usage, improper lighting, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. A judge released Warren on a $1,000 recognizance bond.
