Nebraska Democratic candidates come together in Norfolk for meet and greet

September 5, 2018

NORFOLK - The Madison County Democrats along with the Native American Caucus hosted a meet and greet at the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska’s Norfolk location Friday.

Special guests included gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist, U.S. Senate candidate Jane Raybold, U.S. 1st District House candidate Jessica McClure and 3rd District House candidate Paul Theobald.

One thing Krist talked about was his recent debate with Governor Pete Ricketts at the Nebraska State Fair Thursday.

Krist says he thinks he did well during the recent debate.

“I attribute it to campaign staff that helped me prepare. Most of those issues talked about I have known for the 10 years that I have been in the Legislature. It’s a different kind of approach though when you have 60 seconds on the microphone opposed to five minutes. They schooled me for about two and a half weeks, but at the end of it I just have to be me.”

Nebraska Democratic Chair Jane Kleeb also spoke and provided information about expanding Medicaid, property taxes, education funding, and the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
