TV anchor, author Sheba Turk to speak at UNO graduation
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Television news anchor and author Sheba Turk will be going back to school this May.
The University of New Orleans says Turk will be the university’s principal speaker during their May 17 commencement.
Turk graduated from UNO in 2011 and worked her way up through WWL-TV to become an anchor on their morning news show.
The New Orleans native also wrote a book called “Off Air: My Journey to the Anchor Desk.”
The university will also award an honorary degree to automobile dealership executive and civic leader Ray Brandt during the ceremony. Brandt is president and CEO of the Ray Brandt Automotive Group.
The Ray and Jessica Brandt Family Foundation contributes to education initiatives and various organizations such as the American Heart Association.
