Tewksbury Hands Russell Her First Victory

First-year Tewksbury High coach Jordan Russell picked up her first victory in convincing fashion as the Redmen blanked Lawrence, 6-0, during Merrimack Valley Conference field hockey action Wednesday.

In other action, North Middlesex, Littleton and Pelham also picked up victories.

Tewksbury 6, Lawrence 0

Senior forward Alison Pellegrino netted the first 3 goals as the Redmen romped.

Also finding the back of the cage for Tewksbury were Shelly Hinkle, Morgan Woodman and Ryan Quinn.

North Middlesex 9, Gardner 4

Maggie Hackler had a huge afternoon with 3 goals and 2 assists to power the Patriots to the rout in Townsend.

Shelley Lielasus added 2 goals and 3 assists, while Megan McCarthy netted 2 goals and an assist. Also scoring multiple points was Jess Coppinger with a goal and 2 assists for NM (2-0).

Littleton 4, Bromfield 2

The Tigers received a 3-goal performance from sophomore forward Valerie Crory in capturing the home victory.

Hannah Cochran also slipped a shot into Bromfield’s cage. Emma Beers and Amanda Yurkoski picked up an assist each. Molly Magnette was a standout at forward for Littleton (1-0-2).

Littleton led 4-1 at halftime.

Pelham 4, Kingswood 0

Madi Robito claimed a hat trick as the Pytons remained undefeated with the win in Wolfeboro.

Abbey Bevens netted the other goal, her seventh of the season. Center midfielder Jessica Slaton was a force for Pelham (5-0).
