Kayaker drowns in Jordan River south of Salt Lake City
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City police are investigating the death of a kayaker whose boat overturned in the Jordan River.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports the man in his 50s was kayaking just before 6 p.m. Thursday when the accident occurred at the spillway near 4600 South.
Police say the moving water kept the man submerged underwater and he apparently drowned.
The man’s name has not been released.
An investigation is continuing.
