Vermont man dies in house fire in Guilford
GUILFORD, Vt. (AP) — Police say a 52-year-old Vermont man is dead after a house fire in the town of Guilford.
The fire was reported at about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in a single-family home with an attached apartment.
Both the house and the apartment were occupied when the fire broke out.
The two tenants and one of the residents escaped the blaze. The second resident of the house was found deceased.
The victim was identified as Timothy White. His body was taken to the office of the Vermont Medical Examiner in Burlington to determine the cause of death.
Police say the fire appears to have started inside the house and is not considered suspicious. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
