Paul and Art Reunite for Simon Retrospective
NEW YORK (AP) _ Paul Simon plans a 10-night live career retrospective come October, covering his music from Garfunkel to ″Graceland″ and featuring a reunion with his old partner Art.
The shows at the Paramount Theater will run between Oct. 1 and Oct. 16, with tickets going on sale Monday.
The Simon and Garfunkel reunion will be one part of the show, which will also feature Simon performing early solo-career material with an all-star band and later solo songs from ″Graceland″ and ″Rhythm of the Saints″ with an international group.
The show will include Simon and Garfunkel classics such as ″Mrs. Robinson″ and ″Sounds of Silence,″ Simon’s older tunes such as ″Me and Julio″ and ″Mother and Child Reunion,″ and more recent hits including ″You Can Call Me Al″ and ″Born at the Right Time.″
Simon is doing the shows ″just for fun,″ said his spokesman, Dan Klores.
Simon and boyhood pal Garfunkel, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, broke up in 1970 but have reunited several times. They played a free concert for about 500,000 people in Central Park in 1981.
