Blackhawks Recall Mikhail Yakubov

CHICAGO (AP) _ The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Mikhail Yakubov, the team’s first-round pick in 2000 draft, from the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

To make room for Yakubov on the roster, the Blackhawks reassigned forward Pavel Vorobiev to Norfolk, general manager Dale Tallon said Thursday.

Yakubov began the season playing for Spartak in the Russian League, where he scored five goals and had seven assists in 20 games. He re-signed with the Blackhawks on Nov. 30 and was assigned to Norfolk. He played in eight games for the Admirals, scoring one goal and adding three assists.

He played 30 games for the Blackhawks in 2003-04, scoring nine goals and adding 11 assists.
