Second man arrested in Jackson apartment shooting

February 7, 2019

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Two men have been arrested in the shooting death of a man at an apartment complex in Mississippi.

Jackson Police Sgt. Roderick Holmes tells news outlets that 19-year-old Jordan Green was arrested Thursday and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Quinvarious Parker.

Another man, 19-year-old Elvin Horton, was arrested Wednesday in the Feb. 1 shooting of the 20-year-old Parker.

Officers found Parker lying near an apartment. He had been shot several times and died at the scene.

Investigators think Parker was shot during a robbery attempt. Officers said Parker had left his apartment to meet someone in the parking lot. Moments later, witnesses heard shots.

Holmes was denied bail Wednesday. It’s unclear if either man has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
