Woman’s 2017 death ruled a homicide; boyfriend arrested

November 16, 2018

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Police in Florida say the boyfriend of a woman whose 2017 death was reported as a suicide is now being accused of killing her.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s officials arrested 27-year-old Sean Curtis Lovins on Wednesday after investigators say evidence collected in the death of 20-year-old Aunesty Summer Rayne Hite didn’t add up to suicide. She died on a gunshot wound on July 29, 2017.

Lovens initially told investigators that his girlfriend shot herself.

Lt. Craig Waldrup says scientific tests conducted over the past year led investigators to believe the victim didn’t shoot herself. The state attorney’s office reviewed the case and an arrest warrant was issued.

Lovins is being without bond. A lawyer isn’t listed on jail records.
