Here’s a list of health screenings, classes and support groups coming up at area hospitals:

Tuesday, Aug. 28

n Free Diabetic Foot Screening - If you have diabetes and suffer from lack of sensation, a feeling of “pins and needles” or pain in your feet, learn your risks at these free screenings.

Location: 1115 20th St., Huntington.

n Spine Surgery Pre-Op - Class for pre-operation Spine Center patients and their friends and family

Location: St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute Room 207.

Time: 4-5 p.m.

n Breastfeeding 101 - Breastfeeding can be easier and more enjoyable with the support of others. Cabell Huntington Hospital’s breastfeeding classes are taught by lactation consultant Dawn Kinser, RN, BSN, IBCLC-RLC, who offers encouragement and information for nursing mothers.

n Welcome to Medicare 101 - Cabell Huntington Hospital Senior Services is hosting a free workshop series to bring together Medicare experts with those who are eligible to enroll -or already enrolled- in the federal health insurance program.

Location: Harless Auditorium near the atrium entrance on the hospital’s ground floor.

n Stroke Recovery Support Group - Stroke support groups challenge people to reach beyond their limitations. Social interaction and simply feeling connected to others helps ease the depression and isolation so common after stroke.

Location: Class is located in the Wellness Center aerobics room on the first floor of St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute.

Time: 6 p.m.

Costs: A Wellness Class package consists of any 8 wellness classes. Packages are $35 or $5 per class for community members/$20 or $3 per class for St. Mary’s employees and Wellness Center and Total Woman members. Free trial classes are available.

n 13th Annual Orthopedic Conference - The 13th Annual Orthopaedic Conference is open to nursing personnel and includes education and information on providing quality care to orthopaedic patients
