Papal Envoy Arrives In Poland

WARSAW, Poland (AP) _ Archbishop Luigi Poggi, who is Pope John Paul II’s special envoy to Eastern Europe, arrived in Warsaw on Monday for a 20-day visit to Poland that will include talks with government officials and church leaders.

Poggi refused to answer questions from reporters at Okecie Airport after arriving from Rome.

Poggi is scheduled to hold talks with the Roman Catholic primate, Cardinal Jozef Glemp, with Foreign Minister Stefan Olszowski and with Religious Affairs Minister Adam Lopatka.
