Phillies’ Brogna Has Knee Surgery
PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Phillies first baseman Rico Brogna underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday but should be rehabilitated in time to started the season in April, the team doctor said.
Dr. Michael Ciccotti performed the surgery at the Rothman Institute at Jefferson Hospital.
``Rico tolerated the procedure very well. Nothing I saw today makes me think he will not be ready by the start of the season,″ Ciccotti said.
Brogna injured his knee through wear and tear of the 1999 season. He will begin rehabilitation immediately.
