STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Alanna Smith had 19 points and nine rebounds, and No. 7 Stanford totaled its most points since 1994 with a 115-71 victory over Idaho on Sunday.

The Cardinal (2-0) had their fifth-highest point total ever and most since tying a school record with 122 against Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 10, 1994.

Kiana Williams also scored 19 points and had nine assists as Stanford kept pace with the sharp-shooting Vandals (1-1) from long-range by matching the school record with 16 3-pointers.

Lexie Hull added 17 points and six Stanford players reached double figures en route to its first 100-point game in two years. Nadia Fingall added 16 points and both Anna Wilson and Maya Dodson had 10.

Gina Marxen scored 22 points to lead Idaho, picked by coaches to win the Big Sky. Janie King added 18 points, including a 6-of-10 effort from 3-point range.

Vandals’ leading scorers Taylor Pierce and Mikayla Ferenz were limited to a combined eight points on 3-of-15 shooting. Neither played more than 26 minutes.

Stanford was 16 of 40 from 3-point range. Hull and Williams combined to go 9 of 15.

Idaho was 15 of 24 from long range. Marxen was 5 of 6.

The Cardinal also utilized their height advantage, outrebounding the Vandals 44-15.

Idaho: Pierce and Ferenz are two of the three Vandals to make more than 300 3-pointers in a career. Freshmen King and Marxen may be the next set of teammates to reach the milestone. Through two games, they have combined for 15 3-pointers. King made the first six she attempted before missing toward the end of the first half. ... Idaho had five rebounds in the first half and was outrebounded 13-0 on the offensive boards.

Stanford: Hall of Fame coach Tara VanDerveer collected her first 42 coaching victories at Idaho, where she began her career in 1978 before moving to Ohio State. While the Cardinal are 2-0 all-time against the Vandals, this is the first time VanDerveer coached a game against Idaho. Stanford played Idaho twice in 1981.

Idaho travels to Texas Tech on Saturday.
