Cali Celebs Helping Out

November 16, 2018

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are donating half a million dollars to help victims of wildfires in southern California, even though they are victims themselves.

Cyrus’ charity, The Happy Hippie Foundation, will donate $500,000 on behalf of the couple to The Malibu Foundation. Cyrus’ representative tells The Associated Press the couple want to give back to the place that has created so many beautiful memories for them. The rep says the donation will be used for those in financial need, emergency relief assistance, community rebuilding, wildfire prevention and climate change resilience.

Cyrus and Hemsworth had a home in Malibu that burned down but they and their animals are safe.

Meanwhile the crew at Fire Station 68 in Calabasas, California, are grateful to Dave Grohl. He brought them barbecue. The firefighters posted an Instagram photo of themselves with Grohl, thanking him for bringing his Backbeat Barbecue over to them on Monday. They’re battling the wildfire in Woolsey. Grohl posted an Instagram photo of his hands full of barbecue with the caption, “Dig in!” His publicist had no details on Grohl’s visit.
