Officer avoids serious injury in head-on crash
GILL, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts police officer avoided serious injury in a head-on crash over the weekend.
Authorities say the Gill police cruiser was heading west on Route 2 in town at about 10 a.m. Sunday when an oncoming vehicle crossed into its path and hit the vehicle head-on.
Police say the officer and occupants of the other vehicle were hospitalized for minor injuries.
The officer, whose name was not disclosed, has since been released from the hospital.
It was snowing at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
