St. Charles girl home from hospital after Mother’s Day hit and run
ST. CHARLES – Lexi Hanson, the 7 year-old girl injujred in a hit and run on Mother’s Day, has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at her St. Charles home.
Hanson, a second-grader at Anderson Elementary School in St. Charles, was struck around 1 p.m. on May 12 while her bicycle along Geneva Avenue near the intersection of Courier Avenue.
She was struck by a black Dodge pickup truck, driven by Brian Quartuccio, 42, of St. Charles Township. Lexi was airlifted to the Park Ridge hospital, where she remained until Wednesday.
Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain visited Lexi at her home on Thursday, and said she was released from Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge the evening of May 15. He said she has a “rash” and bruising on her face and chin, along with some bumps and bruises elsewhere, but overall is doing very well.
