Cleveland Movie Tour: What famous film sites would you revisit?

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Imagine standing in the same spot where Captain America led the Avengers an epic battle against Loki and the alien Chitauri fleet.

Cleveland offers you that opportunity. And if the local film commission has its way, it could be one of the centerpieces of a movie tour that could drive residents and tourists wild.

Along with the final battle in “The Avengers” shot on Euclid Avenue, which locations where famous movies were filmed in Cleveland would you want to see on such a tour?

As part of Cleveland.com’s new series, Steeplechase: Clearing hurdles to prosperity, we take an in depth look at the local film industry and what it would take to make the region a thriving center for film production.

Ivan Schwarz, CEO of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, says that could involve marketing Cleveland’s connection to major motion pictures with a tour of locations where those movies were filmed.
