IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Jeff Robinson, the deep snapper signed to solve one of the Dallas Cowboys' biggest problems, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

The move means Robinson, who got a $4.8 million, four-year contract from the Cowboys, won't play this season.

The Cowboys trimmed their roster to 73 players, the NFL-mandated 65 plus eight NFL Europe exemptions.

The Cowboys also placed rookie fullback Jamar Martin (torn right knee ligaments), their fourth-round pick last April, on the injured reserve. Guard Dan Collins (sprained right knee) and linebacker-turned-fullback Scott Zimmerman (high ankle sprain) were waived injured and will revert to injured reserve if they clear waivers.

Rookie receiver DeVeren Johnson, a sixth-round pick, was cut outright along with rookie linebacker Khary Campbell and third-year defensive end Byron Frisch.
