Suspect in arson, assault arrested by BHC police
BULLHEAD CITY — A man sought by police following a reported assault and arson on Wednesday was arrested Thursday evening in Bullhead City.
Trevor Bradford Maestre, 28, was apprehended after a brief standoff with police at a residence in the 2000 block of Ramar Road, according to Emily Fromelt, spokeswoman for the Bullhead City Police Department. He was taken into custody shortly after 5 p.m. and booked on suspicion of arson of an occupied structure and aggravated assault.
The crimes allegedly occurred Wednesday at a residence in the 400 block of Malibu Drive in Bullhead City, according to police reports.
Maestre is accused of threatening his girlfriend, allegedly holding a knife to the woman’s neck, Fromelt said. He is accused of starting a fire in a bedroom in the residence, hitting a man in the head with a baseball bat then fleeing the scene before police arrived.
The man was being treated at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center on Wednesday. No information on his condition was available Thursday.
Police did not say what led them to the Ramar Road residence on Wednesday. Fromelt said the investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
