CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Kyle Busch will attempt to run six Nextel Cup races next season and the annual all-star event for Hendrick Motorsports.

The 18-year-old younger brother of NASCAR star Kurt Busch will make his debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway _ his hometown track _ in March.

Hendrick said Wednesday it will also enter Kyle Busch in the No. 84 Chevrolet in the races at Texas Motor Speedway in April, and both May events at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

He'll try to run at New Hampshire International Speedway, Michigan International Speedway and California Speedway during the second-half of the season.

Busch, who will run a full Busch Series schedule in 2004, will be driving a car sponsored by CARQUEST Auto Parts.

``I appreciate the opportunity CARQUEST and the Hendrick family have provided,'' he said. ``Learning firsthand from my teammates and the other Cup drivers is going to be great experience. I'm just looking forward to being on the race track with them.''

Busch attempted to make the Winston Cup finale in Homestead, Fla., last month, but his car was disqualified when it failed pre-race inspection.

In seven Busch Series events this past season, Kyle Busch had a pair of runner-up finishes and three top 10s. He also won two ARCA races in a Hendrick car.
