SYDNEY (AP) — England won the toss and chose to bat Sunday in the third one-day cricket international against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia, which leads the five-match series 2-0, made three changes to its lineup, naming fast bowler James Pattinson to play his first one-day international since September, 2012.

The home team also recalled Xavier Doherty and Dan Christian while omitting Mitchell Johnson, George Bailey and Clint McKay.

England made two changes, naming James Tredwell and Stuart Broad in place of Joe Root and Boyd Rankin.

Pattinson was recalled for his first match for Australia since he suffered a serious back injury in the second Ashes test against England at Lord's in July.
