Tucked away in New Canaan’s backcountry is one of the town’s best kept secrets: A lavish 21-room colonial at 26 Pequot Lane.

Bueti Construction custom built the extraordinary 11-year-old sand-colored brick estate for the present owners, the only occupants of this house. There have been periodic renovations to the house.

“(It) is totally private. It also has every amenity one can want,” listing agent Robbie Blosio said. “This will make the perfect vacation home for someone.”

The home sits on 4 acres and has four levels: a basement, main level, second level and third level.

The basement, Blosio said, includes a full wet bar, a family room with a see-through fireplace, a nice-sized billiards room and a wine cellar that can fit hundreds of bottles of wine. The room also includes a sauna, fitness room and an extra room that can be an additional bedroom.

Enter the main level into a two-story grand entrance with sweeping staircases on both the left and the right side. Walk in to the home and there is a cherry-paneled library with fireplace as well as a large conservatory living room that opens to several balconies.

The gorgeous family room, Blosio said, has coffered ceilings and is the home of one the property’s seven fireplaces.

The main hallway on the first level overlooks the backyard. The splendid chef’s kitchen with a large breakfast nook is surrounded by windows and lots of light. There are stainless steel appliances and the island can seat four while the nook area can seat six.

“Many of the kitchen’s cabinets have glass and you can see into the cabinets,” Blosio noted. Off the kitchen is a butler’s pantry.

The dining room has a fireplace, a tray ceiling, a large oversized fireplace and Brazilian cherry floors. There is also a guest bedroom on the main level.

The back staircase features the home’s elevator, which goes to every floor. There is also a four-car heated garage.

The second level is home to five bedrooms, including the master suite. The master offers a fireplace, a his-and-her toilets, his-and-her vanities, a jacuzzi tub, a SMART shower, his-and-her closets and French doors that go out to the balcony and overlooks the pool.

The four other bedrooms, Blosio said, all have walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms. There is also a crafts room on this level.

The third level is unfinished and features an additional 3,000 square feet of living space. The backyard, Blosio said, features a tennis court, a heated in-ground pool and waterfall, a basketball court and a spa.

“This home is truly one-of-a-kind,” Blosio said. “You will not duplicate this house for this price.”
