PHOENIX (AP) — The Latest on a Phoenix shooting involving police (all times local):
Arizona authorities say a suspect being sought following a shooting that seriously injured one officer has died after a shootout involving police.
The Glendale Police Department posted an update on social media, saying tactical officers attempted to take the suspect into custody Friday and gunfire ensued.
The department says the unnamed suspect was pronounced dead at the scene but provided no other details about the circumstances.
Authorities did say the Glendale police sergeant who was injured earlier was in serious condition but they did not comment on the nature of his or her injuries.
The Phoenix Police Department says a suspect in a shooting involving at least one police officer is in custody.
The department’s Twitter post reporting the development Friday did not provide any additional information about the suspect or the incident, which another Police Department spokesman said previously that resulted in an officer being injured.
The nature of the officer’s injury and his or her condition isn’t known.

Pfohl says police are “actively looking for a suspect” and ask that people stay away from the area until the situation is under control.
