January 4, 2019

COLUMBIA, S.C. – One South Carolina senator continued to state his support of medical marijuana at the 2019 South Carolina Press Association Legislative Workshop for the Media.

Late during the morning roundtable discussion, Sen. Tom Davis, who represents central Beaufort and eastern Jasper counties, was asked by a member of the media about a recent poll showing the a majority of the state supported the legalization of medical marijuana.

Davis said he strongly supported medical marijuana after meeting families with children whose problems could not be cured by conventional pharmaceuticals. He said the science was getting clearer and clearer that medical marijuana was a positive for those suffering from several problems including multiple sclerosis and seizures.
