Man known to give wheelchair rides to kids charged with sexual abuse
NAMPA — A man known to give children rides on his motorized wheelchair at a Nampa apartment complex has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor, according to Nampa Police.
Police arrested Jack R. Swisher, 45, on Thursday, related to reports of lewd conduct and sexual abuse of a child in November 2017. Police are concerned there may be more victims because of the number of children living in and around Swisher’s apartment complex on North Gateway Street, according to a police department press release. He was known in the community as “Mr. Jack,” according to police.
A girl under the age of 10, who is a family acquaintance of Swisher’s, told police on Aug. 19 that Swisher had taken naked photos of her and made her do the same for him, according to a probable cause affidavit. The affidavit states the girl did not want to, but Swisher yelled at her to do so while in his apartment on North Gateway Street. The affidavit also claims that Swisher touched her inappropriately. This reportedly occurred sometime in November 2017.
Swisher is charged with two felony charges of sexual abuse of children under 16, lewd conduct with a child under 16 and sexual exploitation of a child.
Swisher is being held on a $200,000 bond in the Canyon County jail, according to Idaho online court records.
Anyone with information on possible victims is asked to call Nampa Police dispatch at 208-465-2257.
