Chief deputy wounded after accidentally shooting self
WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina chief deputy is hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself.
Martin County Sheriff Tim Manning told news outlets Chief Deputy Drew Robinson was at home Saturday when he shot himself with a gun not issued by the sheriff’s office. Manning said no one else was involved in the incident, but provided no further details.
Robinson is listed in good condition in a local hospital and is expected to recover.
An investigation into the shooting continues.
