Camden man sentenced to 47 years for ’15 murder
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A Camden man has been sentenced to 47 years in prison for murdering a 19-year-old in the city.
A jury convicted Jacob Llera in October of the fatal shooting of Saadiq Coleman in September 2015.
Police testified they heard gunshots and saw Coleman running toward their patrol car, shot multiple times. He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital and died there.
U.S. marshals arrested Llera in Philadelphia about eight days after shooting. Police used on surveillance video, photos and witness testimony to establish Llera was the shooter.
The 23-year-old won’t be eligible for parole for more than 37 years.
