Point Pleasant baseball beats South 15-7

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Point Pleasant scored nine times in the bottom of the second inning on their way to a 15-7 triumph over Parkersburg South in the season opener for both teams.

Jon Herdman threw 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory. Joel Beattie, Hunter Blain, Brody Jeffers, Sam Pinkerton, Carter Smith and Miles Williams smacked two hits apiece for Point Pleasant. Blaine, Jeffers and Pinkerton drove in two runs apiece.

Blake McMullen paced Parkersburg South with three hits and two runs batted in. Drew Cochran and Nick Yoho each had two hits.
