MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Katie Smith, the WNBA’s leading scorer, had 21 of her 26 points in the second half to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 63-57 victory over the Miami Sol on Friday night.

Smith, averaging 25.4 points, has scored 66 points in her last two games. Her fourth 3-pointer, with 3:15 left, gave Minnesota its biggest lead, 60-50.

Kisha Ford hit a layup with 41 seconds left to cap a 7-0 run as Miami closed within 60-57. Minnesota converted three free throws in the final seconds to clinch its second straight victory.

Lynn Pride scored all 11 of her points in the first half for Minnesota (3-4). Erin Buescher added 10.

Sandy Brondello scored 13 points, all in the second half, for the Sol (5-4). Sheri Sam, the only Miami starter to score in the first half, finished with 11 points. The Sol’s reserves outscored their Minnesota counterparts 18-4 in the first half.

The Sol have lost three straight games to the Lynx.

Svetlana Abrosimova, selected seventh overall by the Lynx in the first round of the April draft, had five points and three rebounds in 18 minutes in her debut. Abrosimova missed Minnesota’s first six games while recovering from a foot injury sustained in February while playing for Connecticut.

The Lynx were without guard Betty Lennox, last year’s WNBA rookie of the year. Lennox was placed on the injured list Thursday with a strained left hip.
