Dartmouth 80, Columbia 65

NEW YORK (AP) _ Jamie Halligan scored 22 of his career-high 27 points in the second half as Dartmouth beat Columbia 80-65 Friday night, the Big Green’s sixth straight victory.

Dartmouth (7-12, 3-4 Ivy League) took a 10-3 lead after five minutes and extended it to 19-7 midway through the first half. The Lions (6-13, 4-3) never led.

Columbia, which lost its third straight, got as close as 68-61 with 2:14 remaining but Halligan sank four free throws and Stan Kowalewski hit two more to put the Big Green ahead 74-61 with 1:08 left.

Gregg Frame scored 17 points for the Big Green and Seamus Lonergan added 14. Jamal Adams led the Lions with 22 points and J.J. Waterer had 12, all on 3-point baskets in the second half.
