Iron Mountain: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

BOSTON (AP) _ Iron Mountain Inc. (IRM) on Thursday reported a key measure of profitability in its second quarter. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations.

The Boston-based real estate investment trust said it had funds from operations of $154.6 million, or 54 cents per share, in the period.

The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 51 cents per share.

Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization.

The company said it had net income of $92.4 million, or 32 cents per share.

The real estate investment trust, based in Boston, posted revenue of $1.07 billion in the period, which met Street forecasts.

Iron Mountain expects full-year revenue in the range of $4.25 billion to $4.33 billion.

The company’s shares have declined slightly more than 9% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has increased 19%. The stock has dropped 16% in the last 12 months.
