Huber inmate in custody after he allegedly walks off job, steals car

JUNEAU — A Dodge County Huber inmate could face additional charges after walking off his job Monday morning.

According to the Beaver Dam Police Department, staff at Northwoods Paper Converting, 230 Corporate Drive, reported around 2:40 a.m. that a man who was a Huber inmate from the Burke Center had walked away from work. The Burke Center entered him as missing. Police also found out that a Toyota Corolla was stolen from the lot, and sent out an attempt to locate throughout the state.

The man returned to work hours later and was taken into custody and could face charges of escape.

Police would not identify the man and no charges have been filed in the case as of Tuesday.
