Man Allegedly Used Stun Gun On Store Worker

WILKES-BARRE — A man caught shoplifting at the Home Depot on Thursday night pulled a stun gun on an employee who confronted him before fleeing the scene, police said. Investigators are now seeking the man on robbery charges following the incident that took place at the Spring Street hardware store around 5 p.m. Thursday. Police said the man loaded several power tools into a shopping cart and left without paying for them. When confronted by an employee, the man pulled what appeared to be a Taser and threatened the employee, police said. The robber put the merchandise into a newer-model black Nissan Ultima and fled the scene. Police said the license plate number was not available. Investigators described the robber as a black man with black and gray hair and a beard. He was wearing blue jeans, tan boots, a camouflage jacket and a black cap. Anyone with information about the robber’s identity is asked to call police at 570-208-4200 or 911. — JAMES HALPIN
