Scotland Yard Confirms Remains Were of Missing Australian, Britons
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) _ Human remains found in Cambodia in June were those of three foreigners abducted in April, Australian Foreign Minister Gareth Evans confirmed today.
Kellie Wilkinson of Australia and two Britons, Dominic Chappell and Tina Dominy, all in their 20s, were abducted by suspected Khmer Rouge guerrillas while driving from Phnom Penh to the southern town of Sihanoukville.
The identification was made by London police forensic experts, who concluded the three were murdered soon after their capture.
Three other foreigners are being held by the Khmer Rouge. David Wilson of Australia, Mark Slater of Britain and Jean-Michel Braquet of France were kidnapped during a train ambush July 26.
